BUSINESS / Compensation

There are lots of situations, accidents, crimes and mistakes, whereby someone might have the right to claim compensation from another person or company. Just as there are several causes for claiming compensation, there are also several ways of settling it. Here are a few examples of these.

The most typical is legal compensation, settled between the two parties by lawyers or in court. However, there are other perhaps more amicable ways of compensation, where both parties come to an agreement out of court, where both are satisfied by the compromise met. One example of this solution may be the replacement or repair of the goods damaged. Another possibility may be to reimburse the person or company for the money lost, or offer them a discount on another product, which might cover the loss of the initial cause for compensation.

In most cases, people opt for an out-of-court settlement, as this type of solution provides the easiest way to solve a compensation issue efficiently and with no additional legal costs to both parties. After all, accidents do happen!
